Soldier 04:29
Tried my best to tell you the truth When everything is hanging on you To give it away It feels like time has dealt you a hand And nobody else can understand Or that’s what you say You're acting like there’s a place you can Materialise in the back of your head Out of the way And you keep telling yourself you’re a soldier And it’ll be there (and it’ll be there) Oh, I gotta tell you (you’re a soldier) That it’ll be there, and it’ll be there when you start Caught up in the thick of it all And holding back from making the call Well how would you know? You’re just so tired of hanging around It took too long to figure it out With nothing to show You're acting like you’re a different man It used to be in the palm of your hand Where did it go? And you keep telling yourself you’re a soldier And it’ll be there (and it’ll be there) Oh, I gotta tell you (you’re a soldier) That it’ll be there, and it’ll be there when you start Oh, you’re a soldier And it’ll be there (and it’ll be there) Oh, I gotta tell you (you’re a soldier) That it’ll be there, and it’ll be there when you start

I’m intoxicated by you There’s nothing in the world I can do Well you had me at the start And I was doomed I’m infatuated with you There’s something in the air of the room Well you had me at the start But I was doomed, Well, are you out tonight? I want to know where I need to go (I’m calling out to you) Well, are you out tonight? I want to know where I need to go (I’m calling out to you, I’m calling out to you) Call you in the morning like you Told me that I never should do Well I’m dreaming and I’m fiending Over you Well, are you out tonight? I want to know where I need to go (I’m calling out to you) Well, are you out tonight? I want to know where I need to go (I’m calling out to you, I’m calling out to you) (I’m calling out to you) Hey! You’ve got to tell me baby (tell me, tell me) You’ve got to give it away (hide it, hide it ) I’m hiding away It’s such a terrible thing (terror, terror) You’ve got to hide it away (hide it, hide it) I’m calling out to you Well, are you out tonight? I want to know where I need to go (I’m calling out to you) Well, are you out tonight? I want to know where I need to go (I’m calling out to you, I’m calling out to you)

All I Ever 03:33
I should have stayed at home today Who the hell at this time’s awake, anyway? Sometimes the world it seems so cruel When you’re a fool and you never know what to do It makes sense if she’s been sad But I have given all I have, it’s all I ever do And everyone’s in on it too And you’re a fool, who never knows what to do She plays it cool With envy in her eyes You’re just a jealous fool A consolation prize I should’ve stayed at home tonight I should’ve played my cards right But you know I never do And you keep saying it’s not true I’m so confused, if I leave it all up to you She plays it cool With envy in her eyes You’re just a jealous fool A consolation prize Well I guess always wore my heart on my sleeve And I can go if you’re asking me to leave Happiness is all I ever wanted It’s all I’ll ever need

You’ve got the key to my head Took out the love and made wish I was dead I know I’m too messed up to decide It’s such a sick and twisted world outside, One thing you should understand Inside my head there’s a different man to who you know I left my luck in the gutter Tripped before you though I’d get it together So you noticed me, but I didn’t notice you Won’t you let me be, ‘cause I’m coming through Now I’m so out of my mind It happens all the time, I never saw the signs Everything is so… So out of my mind, on everything I find I don’t believe the signs Everything’s so new to me If I could get you to see It’s flipped the switch to bring the freak out in me, I can fix it It’s been a joke for too long Such a swindler, if I killed ya, would you say that it’s wrong? So you noticed me, I didn’t notice you Won’t you let me be, ‘cause I’m coming through Now I’m so out of my mind It happens all the time, I never saw the signs Everything is so… So out of my mind, on everything I find I don’t believe the signs Everything is so… So out of my mind It happens all the time, I never saw the signs Everything is so… So out of my mind, on everything I find I don’t believe the signs

Do U Need It 04:54
Free reign with the old terrain I never once got scared A quick fix just to numb the pain Without a second to spare And it goes... 'I won’t let this happen again' I know, we can only pretend I thought we were on the mend, until she said to me ‘Now I’m beginning to think, now I’m beginning to think...' Do you need it when I’m looking out for ya? Do you need it when I’m head over heels? Do you need it when I want to be with ya? Do ya? Do ya? Do ya? Set sail with the animal eyes I always end up there It’s a cocktail with modafinil highs If you're willing to share And it goes... Do ya? Do ya? Do ya?

All the people, fall into a haze Drop the needle, give it all away It was a castle of love, it was a wretched den I knew I’d do it once, oh but never again I saw the look in your eyes, there was time to be spent On reminding yourself how to choose your friends We were dancing like kissers and kissing like dancers Flirting with questions, expecting no answers I’m telling you now, ain’t no way to resist A girl like you in a place this, to think All the people, fall into a haze (I heard the calling and I had to say yes) Drop the needle, give it all away (Give it all away) All the people, fall into a haze (I heard the calling and I had to say yes) Drop the needle, give it all away It was a fresh idea, something I’d not seen They said I was a friend although I’d never been But something did change about the way that I think Maybe it’s something to do with what you put in my drink Oh but me I was different, I was feeling reborn Between the hours of 7:36 and dawn And to tell you the truth, ain’t no man could resist A girl like you in a place like this All the people, fall into a haze (I heard the calling and I had to say yes) Drop the needle, give it all away (Give it all away) All the people, fall into a haze (I heard the calling and I had to say yes) Drop the needle, give it all away All the people, give it all away

Mary Lou 04:05
Cut to the breaking of the morning I was struck down by a fear Every light went out without a warning On the crystal chandelier And I’m desperate to get out The things you do to me Were hidden in between the lines But not so hard to read Come on Mary Lou, I keep telling you That you’re killing me Won’t you set me free? Mary Lou, I keep telling you That you’re killing me Won’t you set me free? I spent some time there with the strangers Hanging on your every word And it ain’t a crime to be deranged, but I knew that we’d get burned Oh you have to let me out The things you do to me Were hidden in between the lines But not so hard to read Come on Mary Lou, I keep telling you That you’re killing me Won’t you set me free? Mary Lou, I keep telling you That you’re killing me Mary Lou Someone get my back, it’s out of my control They all drop like flies now I’m just waiting The confidence I lack begins to take its toll It wasn’t worth the high Now I’m just waiting Mary, Mary, come on, Mary Lou

Cocoa Jackson, no satisfaction You’re my pretty Polaroid with a handwritten caption This could never happen, you tell me all the time Well I know the other nuns Wouldn’t notice in the night if you’re gone Cocoa Jackson, my love was never sanctioned I just think I can convince you with a little bit of action Honey, in my fantasy you trade in your habit For a Sgt Pepper sweater and we kick it to Stax records So please, honey please Why don’t you go for a man you can see I need what I need But you keep saying you’ll be praying for me Cocoa Jackson, why do you ignore me? You treat me like I’m nothing and you’re leaving me lonely I thought everything they taught you was love But I’m beginning to think that enough is enough, uh huh So please, honey please Why don’t you go for a man you can see I need what I need But you keep saying you’ll be praying for me You’re living in a world forgiven by a world forgot I’ve got a bone to pick with a man you call God I keep losing, losing, losing out to a higher… I keep losing, losing, losing out to a higher… I keep losing, losing, losing out To a higher love A higher love, a higher love A higher love, To a higher love (Higher, higher) A higher love (higher, higher) To a higher love (higher, higher) A higher (higher, higher) A higher love

You saw the rise and the fall The terrible time of it all The weight of the world it is gone When everybody walks out the door And what about this thing called love? What about this thing called loving? What about this thing called love? Is it obvious enough? But I know you’d hate to live And I know you’d hate to live Inside my head Inside my head And I know you’d hate to live And I know you’d hate to live Inside my head Inside my head Caught up in drifting away It’s all I can do to contain I’m wasting it all in the name Of keeping it hidden away And what about this thing called love? What about this thing called loving? What about this thing called love? Is it obvious enough? But I know you’d hate to live And I know you’d hate to live Inside my head Inside my head And I know you’d hate to live Yeah, you’d hate to live Inside my head Inside my head…

Rush 05:05
I’m cursed with the conscience of a guilt ridden crook Where cabs look like cops every time that I look It’s the rush, it’s the rush, it’s the rush I’m hopped up on clues to the answers I need They said you might have them but I’ve got to leave It’s the rush, it’s the rush, it’s the rush And I know that I’ve only myself to blame ‘Cause I’m deep in the throws of a selfish game A red-light lover on the hunt for a scam She lifts up her shirt and says give me your hand It’s the rush, it’s the rush, it’s the rush I don’t have to warn ya, you’ve seen it yourself I’m calling out for ya, I’m begging you for help It’s the rush, it’s the rush, it’s the rush And I know that I’ve only myself to blame ‘Cause I’m deep in the throws of a selfish game I know you’re gonna get it, but I’ll be gone Tell your friends I won’t be home It’s the rush (it’s the rush, it’s the rush) I know you’re gonna get it, but I’ll be gone Tell your friends I won’t be home It’s the rush (it’s the rush, it’s the rush) And I know that I’ve only myself to blame ‘Cause I’m deep in the throws of a selfish game I would stand by my word if I could stand at all We’re taking on board what you told us all I know you’re gonna get it, but I’ll be gone Tell your friends I won’t be home It’s the rush (it’s the rush, it’s the rush) I know you’re gonna get it, but I’ll be gone Tell your friends I won’t be home It’s the rush (it’s the rush, it’s the rush)

about

Unmistakable on sight by their frontman's interstellar ginger afro, songsmiths Timothy Nelson & The Infidels – last heard from with the anthemic 2013 hits Born In The '90s and Mary Lou – have delivered their masterwork: album number two, Terror Terror, Hide It Hide It. A bold and fully-developed artistic statement, Terror Terror, Hide It Hide It marks an evolutionary step forward for the band, who have worked in deeper collaboration than ever to create their best and most varied songs to date, captured beautifully by producer Joel Quartermain.

As indicated by the vast musical distance travelled by Timothy Nelson & The Infidels since their 2011 debut album I Know This Now, the band aren't genre writers. They want to explore. To dabble. So there are very few limits on where their songs can go, in the broad spectrum of pop music. Terror Terror, Hide It Hide It covers so much ground as it unfolds... from straight up radio anthems (Calling Out To You, Inside My Head, Mary Lou) to the haunting and minimalist (Do U Need It, Rush) and from Manchester (All The People) to the Mississippi (Cocoa Jackson), the band's imagination has run rampant. The magic at the heart of every song: their love of / knack for earworms. An innate ability to write a hook.

Instrumentally beautiful and richly complex, Terror Terror, Hide It Hide It also boasts The Infidels' best musicianship to date. A who's who of Perth music's vanguard, The Infidels is an impressive lineup of multi-instrumentalists able to manoeuvre into an almost endless variety of ensembles of strings, keys, vocals and percussion. This level of sheer capability and collaboration between Nelson, the band and Joel Quartermain (whose decade-long songwriting accomplishments in Eskimo Joe need little explaining) has allowed the ensemble to strive for loftier heights than ever before, resulting in an album that simply speaks for itself.

Terror Terror, Hide It Hide It shows just how rapid and exponential the musical growth of Timothy Nelson & The Infidels has been. Just a few years ago they were winning Western Australia's highest music awards, nominated as a folk band. Now, without missing a step, Timothy Nelson & The Infidels have become almost indefinably musically vast; capable of bringing to life any of the wondrous music that pops into their imagination.
